On a recent visit to the beautiful Stourhead gardens I took this photo in b&w deliberately. I think it brings out the reflection really well.

I also think it works very well as the deciduous trees were not in leaf and I think this detracted from the colour images captured on the day.

In this respect the viewer's eye is taken more to the architecture of the bridge and reflection and to the Pantheon on the other side of the lake.

Great job in my opinion!

Great image Paul. A classic Stourhead view. Just wondering if you could raise the shadow a bit to the left, but knowing how bright it was on the day you were there I imagine that was a problem all day.

Don’t forget that we have our Overton Cup on 26th November. The judge this year is Malcolm McNaughton who is well known to many members.

Please submit digital images being entered into the competition to your Dropbox folder by midnight Sunday 17th November. Print entries should just be brought along on the evening.
